Roll forward to 2016 and Google has announced the Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones, as it puts Nexus out to pasture.
The previous Pixel product we saw was the Chromebook Pixel, Google's high-resolution Chromebook, which has since been dropped, having reached the end of its life. Launched alongside the two new Nexus handsets (Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P), this new tablet came Pixel branded, rather than Nexus branded. Google set the cat among st the pigeons when it announced the Pixel C tablet in 2015.

Of course, these price thresholds can be reached if you buy multiple units of the same items – loading up on Chromecasts and Daydream viewer headsets, for example. If you place a purchase between $149 and $299, you'll have six months to pay, while purchases higher than $299 will get you 12 months time – unless you buy a Pixel or Pixel XL, in which case you'll have 24 months. The deal is a standard zero-interest monthly payment plan, which gets broken down as follows. The Pixel, Pixel XL, and related devices such as the Pixel C tablet and the Chromecast can be bought from Google's online store on an installment plan – an option for every purchase of more than $150.
While Google's new Pixel smartphones are priced higher than the company's older Nexus handsets, financing remains an option.
